12th Annual 5K Run & Walk for Sight
The 12th Annual Forest Grove Lions' Run & Walk for Sight was once again a huge success! The funds raised this year through event participation and business sponsorships will be used for scholarship to Pacific University College of Optometry students, Amigos eye care clinics and distribution of eye glasses and eye care in developing countries. Sight and Hearing Screenings
Oregon law mandates annual hearing and vision testing of all elementary students. Since the mandate is unfunded, Oregon Lions Clubs have taken on this task at no cost to the public. Last year Forest Grove Lions screened 123 Gaston Elemenatary School children and students at the Visitation School in Verboort. This year, we are on track to again test students at Visitation School as well as at Rock Creek Elementary School in Beaverton.
